Dodi was rescued by a truck driver who
said she was standing in the middle of
the road and basically frozen in tracks
in fear.  He stopped his truck and got
out and just picked her up and put her
in the cab of the truck.  He didn't know
what he was going to do with her.  He
probably should have put her in the
nearby woods because her mother was
more than likely nearby.  Instead, she
ended up with us.  She was SO

new
born, her hooves were still soft!!
DODI, THE DEAR DEER
Dodi was a REAL "licker"!
She would just give
"kisses" ALL the time!
Isn't this just the SWEETEST?!
This is Samuel holding her right
after we got her.  See how TINY
she was?!
We kept Dodi throughout the hunting season and protected her from idiots with guns the
best we could.  As soon as hunting season was over, we took her collar off and set her
free.  She was never seen again (that I know of).

Despite our experience with Dodi, we still enjoy cooking and eating venison.  Sick, huh?
