Primitive Archer Magazine is written specifically for people who love the outdoors,
hunting and archery and has been dedicated to “Passing On The Traditions Of
Classical Archery” since 1992. Published five times a year, we are packed with advice
for bowyers, hunters and outdoorsmen. Each issue is full of how-to's, archery history,
hunting tips and related ways to maximize your outdoor experience, plus exciting
stories from well known authors and your fellow readers. Your collection of issues
serves as a continuously updated "Bowyer's Handbook". Whether you are a beginner
or seasoned bowyer you will enjoy and benefit from the multitude of talented archers
presented in this magazine. Each one will become an important "arrow" in your
quiver of archery information.
Stan Payne is an honorary member of the Cherokee Tribe of Northeast Alabama.  Jim Pell who was the
Cheif of the Cherokee Tribe of Northeast Alabama in 1996 granted this honor to Stan adopting him into
the tribe as his flintknapping skills were much needed in the tribe.  Stan is working on his genealogy
trace of which he is a direct decedent of a Mowah Choctaw.

Cedar Winds is the RV Park/Campground belonging to this tribe.  It's grand opening was in May of 2006
and we were one of the very first campers there!  It is a beautiful place!  If you can make it to their
bi-annual pow wow, be sure to reserve your spot there.  Here is a little about it:

Cedar Winds consist of a Campground/RV Park, Museum with conference area, Native American
Cultural/Educational Center, Cherokee Village, Amphitheater, Gift Shop, Pavillions, and Walking Trails.

Nearby attractions are:
Cathedral Caverns State Park
North Alabama Regulators-Cowboy Shooting Club
Old McDonalds Petting Zoo
Kennamer Cove Trading Post
Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail
US Space and Rocket Center
Famous Scottsboro Unclaimed Baggage

Our ALL TIME FAVORITE place to go to get away from it all!!  Be sure to check out our snapshots! This
beautiful place is in North Alabama.  We've lived in Alabama ALL of our lives and had never heard of it!  Be
sure to plan a trip there to see the Dismalites (glow worms on the walls of the canyon).  Tours are at 9pm -
because you can only see these creatures at night!
