We had initially planned to be at the Jubilee CityFest in downtown Montgomery on Memorial Day
weekend 2006, but the Festival committee denied our application due to the type of art that Stan
does, saying that since alcohol would be served, they were afraid that someone might grab up one of
Stan's knives and hurt somebody.  Stan has set up there before and was quite upset on this new
decision.  So, we got busy trying to find something else to do that weekend that didn't involve work.
We did a search for Alabama campgrounds and discovered a really cool place called
Dismals Canyon.

We had the BEST time of our lives there!  We knew we had to take the kids, so we reserved the
bunkhouse for July 4th weekend and went back!!  Twice in one summer to this place!  Man, if those
canyons could talk!  Here's some
Dismal Canyon snapshots we took ourselves!
